{"id":2505,"date":"2026-01-16T17:07:26","date_gmt":"2026-01-16T20:07:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cancaonovausa.com\/?p=2505"},"modified":"2026-02-03T18:26:06","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T21:26:06","slug":"annual-us-collection-for-the-church-in-latin-america","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cancaonovausa.com\/en\/a-coleta-anual-nos-eua-para-a-igreja-na-america-latina\/","title":{"rendered":"The annual collection in the USA for the Church in Latin America"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Text: Malu Souza<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Between the 24th and 25th of this month, many dioceses in the United States hold the annual collection for the Church in Latin America.<br>This initiative was born as a response to the appeals of the Second Vatican Council for unity among Catholics, beyond geographic boundaries.<br>This collection contributes to the formation of new priests, religious vocations, families, assistance to prisoners and people living in situations of social vulnerability or suffering violence.<br><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Donations can be made through online offerings in parishes or through the platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.igivecatholic.org\/\">#iGiveCatholic<\/a>.<br>The campaign encourages the Church in wealthy countries to help their brothers and sisters in poorer countries.<br><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>American bishops encourage the collection as a way to give back in response to the abundance of blessings, helping those who suffer from some form of poverty and thus contribute to their growth in love of Jesus.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"CN News Morning Edition | 16\/01\/2026\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jjc3Yro2hOA?start=72&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A collection taken in the United States to support the Church in Latin America.
